| August Horch, one of the pioneers of the German automobile industry, founded the automotive company Audiwerke GmbH on the 25 of April of 1910. In 1965 the company was acquired by Volkswagen. From 1985 it began to use the Audi name to identify the brand.
The four ring symbol of the Audi logo represents the union of the four companies that are part of the history of the company.
