| BMW is a German manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. It has its main facility in Munich. The company was founded on 1913 as a manufacturer of airplanes. For that reason the logotype of BMW is an abstraction of a helix turning before the blue sky.
Following the relaxation of restrictions imposed on Germany after World War II, BMW gradually began introducing newly designed models again, with the 5 Series 3 Series and 7 Series and the minicar Isetta. In the following years, BMW introduced the Z1, a sport model, in both coupé and roadster versions, that is to say, a convertible, that at the present time has evolved into two different models, the Z4 and the luxurious Z8. In its line of automobiles BMW also developed a SUV vehicle, the X5 and X3, combining all-terrain durablility and highway comfort.
In 1992 arrived the E 36 with a total redesign, followed six years later by the E 46 and in 2005, the jewel of the crown, the E 90. A machine of 3,3 liters that develops 250 horsepowers and able to take the needle of the speedometer up to 250 kilometers per hour. It accompanies a six speed gear box by six speeds and a series of technical additions that result in a superb car.
BMW has not abandoned their vocation as a leading manufacturer of luxury motorcycles and at the moment makes an ample range, that includes large displacement motorcycles for highway use, as well as all-terrain motorcycles for long distance trekking.
With their constant developments and improvements, BMW is one of the manufacturers world-wide pioneering automobiles applying the most modern technology and electronics to their vehicles.
